Per attempt, the pass rates I found run from 8.70% (HyroTrader's two-step) to 36.22% (Take Profit Trader). Per person the spread is wider, from 7.35% at FunderPro to 51.8% at Topstep. About a third of funded traders then get paid. FTMO, FundedNext and Apex publish no current pass rate. Every firm figure in the tables is self-reported and unaudited. I read the live pages on 8 October 2026, and four rows come from archived copies of the firm's own page.
Pass rates by firm
Read the "What it counts" column before comparing two rows. Some firms count attempts and some count people, and the same firm can show 16.8% on one and 51.8% on the other.
| Firm | Pass rate | What it counts | Period | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep | 16.8% | Trading Combines started | 2025 | Disclosures |
| Topstep | 51.8% | People who entered one or more Combines | 2025 | Disclosures |
| Tradeify | 17.2% | Evaluation accounts started | August 2025 to July 2026 | Homepage |
| Tradeify | 40.3% | People who started one or more evaluations | August 2025 to July 2026 | Homepage |
| MyFundedFutures | 19.97% | "All evaluation participants". Unclear, see below | Not stated | Disclaimer |
| TradeDay | 36% | Not stated | January to June 2026 | Homepage |
| HyroTrader | 13.49% one-step, 8.70% two-step | Challenges | As of September 2026 | Its blog |
| Take Profit Trader | 36.22% | Trading Tests | 2025 | Homepage, archived |
| Earn2Trade | 8.89% | Subscriptions passed against new subscriptions | 2025 | Homepage |
| FunderPro | 7.35% | Traders who bought a challenge | Since launch | Homepage |
| Hola Prime | 35% | Customers who traded an evaluation and got a funded account | 10 November 2024 to 29 May 2025 | Homepage |
| E8 Markets | 17.7% | People who traded at least once and got a funded account | January 2023 to March 2024 | Homepage, archived |
| Apex Trader Funding | 43.13% | Customers who traded an evaluation and got a funded account | January to September 2023, since removed | Homepage, archived |
Two vendor datasets cover several firms at once. Neither names the firms or publishes a method, so treat them as weaker than the rows above.
- FPFX Tech, which sells back-office software to prop firms, reported that 14% of traders passed, from "over 300,000 accounts belonging to 100,000 traders" at 10 firms (Finance Magnates, 2024). A later article, on 2024 data, put it at 12% (Finance Magnates Data Lab).
- Swiset, a trading-tech vendor, studied nearly 10,000 traders from August 2024 to April 2025. It found 20.3% funded on one-phase challenges and 11.8% on two-phase (Finance Magnates).
The Funded Trader's CEO told Finance Magnates that its pass rate "ranges from 5 to 10%" (March 2025). No period came with it.
Attempts are not people
Traders buy again after a fail. That is why Topstep can say 16.8% of Combines passed and 51.8% of people got funded in the same year. Tradeify shows the same gap, 17.2% of accounts against 40.3% of people, and adds that its participants "initiated a median of 3 each over the period".
So "90% of traders fail" is wrong as a statement about people at the two firms that publish both numbers. FunderPro is the exception. It says only 7.35% of the traders who buy a challenge pass. Hola Prime (35%), E8 (17.7%) and Apex's old 43.13% also count people.
As a statement about attempts, 90% is close at some firms and far off at others. From the per-attempt rates above, between 63.78% (Take Profit Trader) and 91.3% (HyroTrader's two-step) of attempts fail. That subtraction is mine.
Three caveats. Take Profit Trader's 36.22% is about twice the other per-attempt rates, and its page doesn't explain why. TradeDay's 36% doesn't say what it counts. And MyFundedFutures now says 19.97% of "evaluation participants" passed, next to a second figure of 19.95% of "participants who began". An earlier version of the same disclosure gave 20.35% for "evaluation accounts" and 43.41% for people. So its current number may be a per-account rate under a new label. I treat it as unclear.
Payout rates by firm
Passing is the first filter. This table shows how many funded traders were paid at all.
| Firm | Share of funded traders paid | Moved to a live account | Period | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep | 33.3% | 0.71% of Express traders | 2025 | Disclosures |
| Tradeify | 28.5% | 3.0% of funded traders | August 2025 to July 2026 | Homepage |
| MyFundedFutures | 39.2% | 4.2% of sim-funded traders | Not stated | Disclaimer |
| Earn2Trade | 18.04% of Live accounts, 18.20% of LiveSim accounts | 5.23% of passers traded Live | 2025 | Homepage |
Earn2Trade counts accounts with at least one withdrawal, so its row isn't comparable with the three above, which count people.
FPFX's multi-firm data says about 45% of funded traders got a payout, which it puts at "7% of all traders", with an average payout of 4% of the plan size (Finance Magnates). The Funded Trader's CEO said "only about 20% of funded traders receive payouts".
Topstep's rates moved up between years. In 2024 it reported 12.4% of Combines passed, 46.6% of people funded and 28.3% of funded traders paid (archived homepage). Its live call-up rate fell from 0.96% to 0.71%.
From a first evaluation to a payout
No firm publishes the share of buyers who end up paid. Multiplying two of their own rates gives an estimate, for the two firms whose rates count people. It assumes everyone paid sits inside the funded group. That is rough, because the "funded level" in a given year includes people funded earlier, and both firms count simulated and live accounts together. Tradeify's figures cover its Growth, Advanced and Select products.

You can reuse this chart and the tables on this page. Please link to this page as the source.
| Firm | People funded | Funded traders paid | Starters paid (my arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep, 2025 | 51.8% | 33.3% | about 17.2% |
| Tradeify, August 2025 to July 2026 | 40.3% | 28.5% | about 11.5% |
By that estimate, about 1 in 6 people who started a Topstep Combine and 1 in 9 who started a Tradeify evaluation got a payout. A payout can be small. Topstep's minimum is $125.
I left MyFundedFutures out of this estimate. It says 39.2% of its funded traders earned a payout, but its pass figure doesn't clearly count people.
Firms that publish no pass rate
FTMO's homepage shows "4.5M+ Customers worldwide" and "$650M+ Paid in rewards", and no pass rate. FundedNext publishes total rewards and an approval-time median, and no pass rate. Apex published 43.13% for 2023 and no longer shows a figure on any page I read.
Prop Data Lab keeps a registry of these disclosures with Wayback history. On 2 October 2026 it wrote that it "found none, current or archived, on the sites of FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers, FundingPips or Goat Funded Trader".
A total paid out says nothing about your odds. FTMO's $650 million and Topstep's "$1.4B+", which is "$1.5B+" on another Topstep page, are sums over years and over millions of accounts. Without the number of buyers behind them, you can't turn them into a rate.
I found no regulator that publishes pass rates. The firms that disclose them do it in a footer, a disclaimer page or a blog post.
Why attempts fail
The only firm-level breakdown I found is The Funded Trader's own stats for August to October 2023, relayed by The Forex Chronicles. It said 71% of the people who failed did so on the daily drawdown and 29% on the max drawdown. The same stats say traders who got paid had bought seven challenges on average first.
Topstep's help center adds a tip with no sample or period: "Over 63% of traders have lost account in a single day". Another Topstep page words it as losing the Combine "on day 1", which is a different claim (daily loss limit). Swiset's study found that users who failed "often did so quickly, typically within a week".
The drawdown type decides how much one bad day costs. An intraday trailing floor follows open profit, so a winner that comes back can end the account at break-even. You can check your own week against each rule in the prop firm drawdown calculator.
How I collected this
I read each firm's own site on 8 October 2026 and kept the quote, the URL and the period for every figure. Four rows come from Wayback Machine captures of the firm's own page: Take Profit Trader (2 October 2026, because its live site blocked me), E8 Markets (January 2026, same reason), Apex (January 2024, since removed) and Topstep's 2024 figures. Vendor data and CEO statements are labelled as such.
Every firm figure here is self-reported and unaudited. I didn't buy or trade a challenge. For the rules and fees behind these firms, see best prop trading firms.
Pass rate FAQ
What is the average prop firm pass rate?
No audited, firm-neutral figure exists. Per attempt, the firm-published rates I found run from 8.70% to 36.22%. Per person they run from 7.35% to 51.8%. Two vendor datasets, which count traders at unnamed firms, give 12% to 14% (FPFX) and 11.8% to 20.3% (Swiset).
Which prop firm has the highest pass rate?
Among firms that publish a current figure, Take Profit Trader reports the highest per-attempt rate, 36.22% of 2025 Trading Tests. TradeDay reports 36% without saying what it counts. Per person, Topstep reports 51.8% for 2025. These numbers count different things, so no firm is "easier" on this evidence.
What is FTMO's pass rate?
FTMO doesn't publish one. Figures such as "8 to 10%" appear on third-party sites without an FTMO source.
How many funded traders get paid?
About a third at the firms that say. Topstep reports 33.3% for 2025, Tradeify 28.5% and MyFundedFutures 39.2%. Those are shares of funded traders, not of everyone who bought an evaluation.
Do prop firms have to publish pass rates?
I found no rule that requires it. Several firms above print their rates in a disclosure footer. I found none from FTMO, FundedNext or Apex today.
